Shaketa recognizes that Locs are not merely a hairstyle but rather a way of life. She takes great pride in her profession, dedicating herself to continually expanding her knowledge and imparting proper techniques to her clients to ensure the health and vitality of their Locs. While Shaketa has been involved in the hair industry since the tender age of 13, completing her cosmetology education in 1998, her actual boutique didn’t come into existence until 2022. With the support of her family, she made the transition from the corporate world to pursue and enhance her passion. It’s important to note that Shaketa has always been hands-on in the world of hair, but is now able to devote her full-time attention to her first love. The name of her boutique holds deep significance, as it is a tribute to her late mother, Michaela Brunson, who passed away in 2021.
